Katya Obretenova
Katya Obretenova joined Anand Devarajan Architecture Inc at the end of 2018 as a Senior Architectural Designer. Prior than that she worked at Gehry Partners, LLP for over 11 years promoted to an Associate position in 2015. As an associate she collaborated directly with the firm principals and Frank Gehry on a wide variety of projects ranging from small scale structures, residential, hospitality, commercial, cultural buildings to Masterplans.
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria and coming from a family background excelling in mathematics, science and technology, Katya developed an early interest into exploration and creativity including dancing, languages, drawing and painting. She graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia in 2006, where after 6 years of extensive multi-disciplinary education, she received a Master’s Degree in Architecture.
With over 19 years of experience practicing Architecture in different countries, Katya has been involved in a broad variety of projects leading architectural design and planning.
